Fish Seafood and Healthy Eating
Omega 3, DHA and Great Taste
Fish is the health food of the century and baby boomers are buying it up by the pound. The leading reason for fish being a health hero is fish is practically the only natural source of Omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acids are an essential nutrient that almost all Americans fall short on. In this low-fat, no-fat world this may seem strange. Simply put, the human diet requires a balance of certain fats.
Grill it, poach it, broil it, bake it. Any way you cook it, fish really is brain food. Not only that, but according to research, also food for your heart, prostate and more. Fish, particularly fatty fish, is an excellent source of the Omega-3 fatty acids, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Omega-3 has been shown to be beneficial to our health in a myriad of ways. The American Heart Association recommends two servings per week of fish such as salmon, char, mackerel and herring because they contain more Omega-3 than lighter fish such as cod or halibut.
Fish is lower in saturated fat, total fat and calories than comparable portions of meat or poultry, the experts note in the February issue of the Mayo Clinic Women’s Health Source.
New England Journal of Medicine in 1997 reported reduced cardiovascular disease in people consuming fish high in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA). It is a well known fact that PUFA is helpful in reducing cholesterol level. People consuming PUFA are less likely to suffer from cardiovascular disease. As humans are not able to synthesize omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA), they must be supplied to the body in the diet. These fatty acids accomplish the synthesis of other essential fats.
French researcher Pascale Barberger-Gateau found that just one serving a week of fish decreased the risk of developing dementia by 30 percent. Eating fatty fish several times a week may also lower the risk of developing prostate cancer by as much as half.
A Swedish study of 3,500 postmenopausal women eating two servings of fatty fish a week found they were 40 percent less likely to develop endometrial cancer than those eating less than one-fourth of a serving a week.
According to Science Journal [278: 1904 - 1905 (1997)], 7 ounces of fish per week is considered to be good and healthy for a woman of 60kg.
Fish consumption during pregnancy may result in a lower risk of preterm delivery or low birth weight. DHA in particular is essential for infant brain and eye development. It may even help prevent postpartum depression.
However, be aware that several types of fish - swordfish, shark, king mackerel, tuna and tilefish can be unsafe in any amount for pregnant or breastfeeding women, women of childbearing age who may become pregnant, and small children, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s advisory. There is concern that these fish may contain high amounts of methylmercury, which has the potential to cause nervous system damage to a developing fetus and other damage to those at risk. Methylmercury is an industrial contaminant that sometimes finds its way into the waters in which fish live.
Overall, fish is an important part of a balanced diet; it is full of vitamins, and other nutrients, including essential fatty acids. It helps in lowering cholesterol level and in controlling blood pressure. It is therefore important that you do not cut fish from your menu but be little cautious about the source and the amount of intake.

Fly Fishing and Kids
I have taught all three of my kids about fly fishing, and many of their friends as well. Like all things taught to humans, some caught on faster than others. Some pursued it, so never touched a fly rod again. I have become a patient and good teacher, and now enjoy the time I spend teaching others, in particular adolescents to fly fish.
I was not always so good at this. When my two oldest kids were both younger than five, I was not as patient as I became later. Not having as much fishing time as I would have liked, I sometimes resented the feeling of having to teach fly fishing, instead of just being able to lose myself in my passion. Yet I must have done something right, because years later they are both knowledgeable fly fishermen.
Many things stick out when I look back to those days. I remember both of them caught their first fish on the same day. Their first fish all alone that is, one in which I hadn’t hooked first and then allowed them to reel in. One time, my younger son had been standing on a rock behind me, in a small stream while I fished a riffle next to the far bank. Well he decided he was cold and wanted me to carry him back to shore. I tucked him under my non-fishing arm, and low and behold here came our Golden Retriever puppy unable to touch bottom and with a slightly panicked look. I slipped my hand under his color. This whole time I had left my nymph in the water, and I was heading back to shore with my son and puppy. If that wasn’t chaotic enough, it was just then that a fish struck. I safely deposited my son and puppy, and then reeled in the fish. I was always kind of proud of that fish, even though it was just average in size.
Several times my sons were extremely competitive in fishing, and it seemed they went hot and cold at exact opposite times. With one catching several fish, while the other one got skunked. And when the one was losing all hope, magically fate would reverse. I would tell them the only thing they can’t control is how many fish they catch. They can control how they fish. How they cast, how they present the fly, which fly they use, and most importantly how good of time they have. And a good time fishing can definitely happen when no fish are caught. Actually we wouldn’t enjoy fishing if we knew we were going to catch fish, the fun is in the surprise, the fun is in not knowing. They would look at me like, “yeah dad, whatever,” and go back to fiercely trying to catch a fish.
The one memory that sticks out the most, though was when my oldest was 13. We had scheduled a four day float trip down the Deschutes River, with two other dads and their sons. At the last minute both other parties canceled, and I was faced with spending four days alone with my reticent son, who seemed to be a more distant stranger by the day. I had toyed with the idea of calling the whole thing off, but quickly decided that wasn’t acceptable. My son’s mother and I were heading through what would prove to be a lengthy divorce, and my son never talkative was growing more withdrawn every day.
With all this hanging over us, we pushed off to face four days of nothing but each other and fishing and talking to occupy our time. The days progressed well enough, weather was good for late May, fishing was superb, and conversation came quite naturally.
It was the last night that I’ll never forget. As we pulled out for one last night of camping, we fished for awhile. Figuring the fish had been more than generous to me, I reeled in and set about the tasks of setting up camp and making dinner. The canyon echoed with shouts of an excited thirteen year, ‘Dad I got another one,’ or ‘Dad this one’s bigger than the last one.’ Several times I looked up from my preparations to admire the latest fish.
After dinner my son decided to head downstream to try his luck. Asking if I was coming, I told him to go ahead and I’ll clean up. Once again he was catching fish. So I strolled down to watch. He looked up at said, ‘what about that spot right down there?’ I told him I thought it looked good. He moved down and on the first cast in waning twilight he hooked into a monster. By far the biggest fish of his life. Three times it went airborne before my overly anxious son tightened down on it too much, and the big native rainbow snapped off the fly.
I feared disappointment, but as my son turned around, he smiled and said, ‘that was awesome dad.’ Indeed, I thought, it was. He finished reeling in, and as I watched this boy becoming a man, falling in love with the whole fly fishing experience, I knew I would never forget that fish. The one that got away.
Conversation flowed that night we talked about his Mother and me, we talked about the future, we talked about father and sons. We got to know each other again. A relationship that flourishes to this day. It is hard not be passionate about an activity that can give you moments like that.

RSS Directory Submission: The Key to Blog Promotion
According to Technorati, there are over 15 million blogs as of July 2005. And during July, an average of 80,000 new blogs were created each day. If you own a blog, how are you going to promote it in order to stay ahead of the competition?
Fortunately, there is a simple, yet very effective method: RSS directory submission.
Submitting your RSS newsfeed to specialized news directories benefits your site in
several ways.
RSS directory submission increases your readership. When a person is looking for
newsfeeds to add to their RSS reader, it is highly likely they will visit an RSS directory
to find newsfeeds on their subject of interest. I recently visited a directory looking
for personal business blogs. I subscribed to several, and now read them via RSS on
a regular basis. Someone else may have an excellent business blog, but since they
weren’t listed in the directory, I was unable to discover their site.
RSS directory submission enables your content to be duplicated and linked to from
other sites. One of the key benefits of syndicating content through RSS is that it
increases your reach. You can publish an article, then have excerpts of that article
placed on hundreds of other websites – with links back to the original on your site.
Many webmasters want to have fresh content for their visitors, and embedding an
RSS newsfeed is the easiest way to do that. You’ll want to make sure that you are
listed in RSS directories when a webmaster visits looking for website content – or
your competitors may get the free promotion!
RSS directory submission provides immediate link popularity. RSS directories are
similar to other web directories – you get a free, one-way link back to your site
when you are listed. Think about this. Most RSS directories carry a pagerank (PR) of
5 or higher. When you multiply that over 50 RSS directories, that is a lot of links
back to your site – meaning increased search engine rank and more visitors.
There are several ways you can submit your RSS newsfeed to directories. The first,
obviously, is by hand. You can get a list of the directories (http://www.rss-
software.net/rss-directories.php), then go to each website and add your feed
manually. Since there are many RSS directories, this can take quite a while. To save
the webmaster time, two ways of automated directory submission exist.
The first one is RSS Submit (http://www.dummysoftware.com/rsssubmit.html), a
program that automates the directory submission process. All you have to do is
open the software, enter the URL for your feed, and RSS Submit will instantly send
the feed information to approximately 40 directories. You can also manually submit
your site to another 25 directories using RSS Submit’s auto-fill function.
The second method is appropriately named: RSS Directory Submission Service (http:
//www.rssdirectorysubmission.com). This service is similar to RSS Submit – you
give them your feed URL, and they submit it to over 50 directories. The difference
between the two is price: while RSS Submit costs $44.95 for a personal, non-
commercial license. RSS Directory Submission Service charges $8.95 per feed
submission. And since sites usually only have one feed, the RSS Directory
Submission Service is more economical for most RSS publishers.
Regardless of the RSS directory submission method you choose, make sure to do it!
You will find the effort small compared to the benefits you receive.

Installing Lighting Safely In The Bathroom
IP Ratings
IP rating stands for ‘Ingress Protection’
An IP number is used to classify the environmental protection of enclosures around electronic equipment.
The first digit relates to foreign bodies such as tools, hands, fingers and dust.
The second digit related to liquids.
First Digit - Foreign Bodies
0 - No protection
1 - Protected against solid objects greater than 50mm2. (eg hands)
2 - Protected against solid objects up to 12mm2. (eg fingers)
3 - Protected against solid objects greater than 2.5mm2. (eg tools and wires)
4 - Protected against solid objects up to 1mm2. (eg small tools and wires)
5 - Protected against dust, limited ingress (eg no harmful deposit).
6 - Totally protected against dust.
Second Digit - Liquids
0 - No protection
1 - Protection against vertically falling drops of water (example, condensation.
2 - Protection against direct sprays of water up to 15 degrees from vertical.
3 - Protection against direct sprays of water up to 60 degrees from vertical.
4 - Protection against water sprayed from all directions - limited ingress permitted.
5 - Protected against low pressure jets of water from all directions - limited ingress permitted.
6 - Protected against low pressure jets of water, limited ingress permitted (eg ship deck).
7 - Protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m.
8 - Protected against long periods of immersion under pressure. (eg. swimming pools)
Example IP Ratings
An IP rating of IP44 is protected against solid objects greater than 1mm and water sprayed from all directions
An IP rating of IP68 is totally protected against dust and can be immersed under water at high pressure for long periods
The higher the IP Rating the more protection offered for your home lighting.
Having the right level of protection is especially important in Bathroom Lighting
The bathroom is a functional room, and the lighting priority should be given to grooming at the mirror. Lighting at the mirror serves for cleaning, make up, shaving and dressing, bathroom lighting should be plentiful and evenly distributed without shadows, and free from glare. Lighting in the centre of the ceiling, places the face in shadow and while useful for general lighting, will not serve well for tasks based here. Lighting at both sides of the mirror works best providing even light across the face and avoids shadow under the chin.
Fluorescent lighting is ideal for tasks and provides high levels of illumination with less heat and lower operating cost than normal GLS fittings. GLS or halogen, offer greater decorative possibilities and if well spaced and diffused, can be used very effectively.
Fixtures with diffusers (shades or glass covers) are the best to avoid glare, while fixtures with bare bulbs can produce glare in your eyes from mirrors. Ceiling fixtures above mirrors should be directly over the centre of the mirror and be in proportion to the mirror size for best results.
Recessed downlights have the benefit of being unobtrusive, but will produce shadows under the eyelids, nose and chin unless placed close to the mirror, spaced well apart and above a light coloured surface they will bounce light back upward to remove the shadows. General lighting from recessed fixtures will serve to illuminate spaces, cupboards and the bath, where some people like to read and relax. There are also waterproof lighting fixtures now available suitable for showers.
Installing dimmer controls for these fixtures is useful as they give attractive low levels of lighting for the evening and allow you to adapt the lighting to your mood and requirements. Candles can be added for that extra relaxing bath to soothe away the daily strains and add intimacy.
Safety Lighting and Lights for Bathrooms
Firstly it is important to understand the rating by which bathroom and some outdoor lights are classified. IP rating stands for ‘Ingress Protection’ and is always followed by two characters. The first character specifies the degree of protection against particles or solid objects. Starting with 0 for no protection to 8 for a light which may be totally submerged in water up to the specified depth. The rating which interest us are IPx4 (x is used in this case because there is no requirement in the regulations for a level of dust protection). Lights sold as IPx4 will have been tested for protection against water splashing from any direction.
Zone 0 is inside the bath or shower itself and any fittings used here must be low voltage (max 12V) and be rated IPx7 which is total protection when immersed in water.
Zone 1 is above the bath to a height of 2.25m. A minimum rating of IPx4 is required here.
Zone 2 is an area stretching to 0.6m outside the bath and above the bath if over 2.25m. An IP rating of at least IPx4 is required here.
Zone 3 is anywhere outside zones 0, 1, and 2 (subject to specific limits) and where no water jet is likely to be used there is no IP rating required.
The IEE Regulations do not make specific reference to wash basins but in the opinion of The Lighting Association they should be treated as Zone 2 (i.e. IPx4).

Web Conferencing – What is it?
Web Conferencing is, very simply, a meeting, conference or seminar that is held over the World Wide Web. Web conferencing can refer to audio, video or text-based conversations and are conducted in real-time.
Web conferencing is an incredibly useful resource for anyone who trades within a global market place. It literally allows you to be in two places at once - sitting at home or in your office whilst conducting a meeting with someone one the other side of the world.
In its simplest form web conferencing can take the form of free downloads such as Microsoft NetMeeting or Yahoo Messenger. Subscribers can participate in text-based ‘chats’, inviting others into their conversations and being able to communication in real-time. Add a simple digital camera to this equation and you have the beginnings of an elementary web conferencing application.
At the other end of the scale, the most sophisticated applications allow seminars and presentations to be made to hundreds of delegates at the same time. Meetings can be fully interactive, allowing question and answer sessions, the sharing of files and documents and slide show presentations to be broadcast.
What Can I Do With Web Conferencing?
How you choose to use web conferencing will very much depend upon your line of work. A webinar (an online seminar) is less interactive than a web meeting, but is a very effective means of presenting sales pitches, performance reviews and delivering staff training.
A web meeting on the other hand, can be fully interactive not only in terms of audio and video but also by allowing the sharing of documents and files and viewing them online.
What is Online Collaboration?
Online collaboration is an excellent resource for project management, especially when team members are located in different geographical locations. Online collaboration provides an advanced level of document management and file sharing. Documents and files can be viewed, modified and updated online and in real time.
What Are The Benefits Of Web Conferencing?
The main benefits of web conferencing are to be found in terms of time and money savings. The need for travel is greatly reduced, and therefore so are the associated costs of travel - tickets, accommodation, subsistence, to name but a few. Employees spend less time waiting for flights, travel or just generally being away from their desk and therefore have more time to spend productively.
Enhanced communication is another benefit of web conferencing. Where colleagues could perhaps only meet face to face a few times a year, for example, web conferencing allows them to meet on a daily basis, if required. With people talking more, work gets done more efficiently and more accurately.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost of web conferencing depends on how sophisticated an application you need. Low-level, one-to-one systems can be set up these days for virtually nothing. The most advanced systems, unsurprisingly, can run into thousands of dollars. Careful research, however, and thoughtful analysis of what you need from a web conferencing system can allow you to budget accordingly and match a system to your needs. The chances are, if you are spending money on travel then you will recoup the cost of your web conferencing software over time.

The Way You Should Increase Your Sites Pagerank
We all know full well that developing links that point to your website can be more vital than just about any other technique known to the world of search engine optimization. Think about it for a moment. We need something that can:
a)Make sure our visitors are finding what they needed
b)Help us obtain our traffic goals
What would that be? Quality Content of course!
Some statistics on surfing the internet show that in nine times out of ten, when you find something that catches your eye and you end up reading it, you will probably find it through a quality text link. Because of this, it may also be true that linking to such quality content will help your pages rank better as well. So far it seems as though it works both ways.
What about reciprocal links though?
We still have no solid evidence in either direction as to whether or not the major SE’s are beginning to discredit or subtract “rank” if you will, when it comes to reciprocal links. So far, all tests are showing that there is no penalty involved. The site in question simply is not doing as well as it used to back before reciprocal links were not so exploited in the pagerank realm.
Tried, Tested, and True
The site tested had a monthly increase in reciprocal links of about 8% steady for thirteen months. Until the Jagger update, the site had ranked top three in Google for all ten targeted keyword combinations. However, now the site can be found on page five on a standard size page of Google search results.
Here is where it gets good. Another site that we were watching for the exact same keyword combinations jumped to #2 for all 10 keyword combinations being watched.
What is the difference between the two?
Site A: 432 backlinks in Google on all datacenters via the McDar Tool. 87 pages indexed. Older Site.
Site B: 112 backlinks in Google on all datacenters via the McDar Tool. 367 pages indexed. Younger Site.
According to our tests, content is not just a part of the calculation, it is a HUGE part of the calculation. With that being said, we have come to the conclusion that unique web content is not only vital, it is a required part of any successful website marketing plan.
All you need to do is build a website loaded with quality content. The links will eventually come, and so will the PageRank.

I Think Your Form Just Ate My Email Address
I signed up for an e-newsletter today - at least I hope that is what happened. I am actually not entirely sure. I was going about my day and thought I would go to the website of one of the major political parties in Canada and signup for their e-newsletter.
Unlike our cousins to the south Canadians head to the polls quite frequently because no one really knows who they want to lead the country and our ruling party is a minority. It makes for heated questions periods full of shouting, insults and frequent threats of looming elections. Being a responsible citizen I thought I should get informed, and how better to than to start getting the opposing party’s email marketing messages.
I’m really serious about this and I assumed this political party was too. I just have one problem. I think the e-newsletter signup form ate my email address. The signup form was on the homepage and was easy enough to find. I entered my email address and pressed ‘go’. And ‘go’ it did! Where, I might never know. The page reloaded and my email address vanished. I checked to see if the leader of the party had changed to David Copperfield. Who knows, I might have missed something while I was on summer holidays. No such luck, it was still the same guy with the same suits that matched his boring hair color.
But where did my email address go?
-Did a thank you page appear to let me know I’d been added the email list? No, the page just reloaded.
-Did I get onto the email marketing list? I have no idea.
-Did I get an opt-in email to confirm my participation? Nope.
-Did I get a ‘welcome to the email list newsletter’ email message? Nope again.
Now I don’t know what to do. My confidence has really been shaken. I think I might not get a good night’s rest tonight. That form ate my email address and it is really bothering me. I guess I will wait and see if I ever get an e-newsletter from this political party. Will I vote for them in the next election? I’m not sure. If their form ate my email address what will they do with my tax money? Will that disappear too?
Maybe I should try to find a contact email address on the website and ask them if my email address got added. Or maybe I should forget the whole thing and rent Dr. Strangelove and make a batch of popcorn.
I wonder if there are other political parties out there who might want my email address?
I know what I am going to do tomorrow – sign up for the other political party’s e-newsletter.

Three Steps to Repairing Your Credit
Have you spent a little more (or a lot more) than you should have with credit? Most American’s have several credit cards with a few thousand dollars in debt racked up, as well as car or personal loans. When you combine these payments with your every day living expenses, it can be really hard to get yourself out of debt. Here are 3 steps you can take right now, to get on the road to repairing your credit.
1. Thanks to changes in federal laws, every citizen in the United States is now eligible for a free credit report every year. It used to be you had to be denied credit with a company before you could obtain a free report, now you can request one each year to keep on top of what’s being put in your credit report. This allows you to find errors and fix them before they cost you your good credit reputation. Order a copy of your credit report to determine how severe your financial situation is. You may think that you have bad credit, but your credit report may show otherwise, and vice versa. If your report shows a lower score than you would like, you can then start taking steps to improving the situation.
2. Investigate the credit report thoroughly and look for errors. You would be amazed at how many people have found accounts on their reports that they have never had in their name. The usual errors are credit card accounts that are showing open when you’ve paid them off and closed the account, and this appears to be money available to you that hurts your overall credit score. You can fix these errors by writing to each of the companies that have reported information in error, and asking them to correct it immediately. Save a copy of all correspondence and seek the advice of the credit reporting agencies if necessary. Once you get the errors corrected, you may be happy with your new credit score!
3. Fix your long term credit situation. Once the errors have been corrected from your credit report, chances are you still have quite a bit of debt you need to get rid of in order to fully improve your credit rating and get yourself out of debt. The first thing you absolutely must do on the journey to repairing your credit is “STOP USING CREDIT CARDS”. If you have them, get rid of them! You must work at paying off the existing debt, and it will only be worth your time and effort if you stop adding to that debt by continuing to spend using your credit cards.
Consider a Loan to Consolidate Credit
If you are still able to, you might consider obtaining a loan to pay off each of your individual credit cards. Doing this will help you because it changes your monthly expenses from several, individual credit card payments, each with their own interest rates and finance charges, to a single monthly loan payment, with just one interest rate. You should also accept a loan with high interest in this case, if it’s all you are able to get, if it means paying off ALL of your existing credit card debt. Why? For the simple fact that having a single monthly payment with high interest is still going to save you money over the long term than having four or five credit cards with their own interest rates and finance charges that are added, month after month. Your payment will go further on a single loan payment than when it is sent to individual credit cards, regardless of the interest rate on the loan.

How I Saved Thousands of Dollars on The Web
I will tell you of a journey. For me, it started many years ago.
Long before I ever had a website, I began this journey. The one
thing people need to do before they ever have a website or web
business, in my opinion, is to become familiar with the web. How
does it operate? How can you find the things you need? How do I
avoid those who prey on others? How do I avoid the sick sites of
porn and nastiness?
In this quest, I got lost from the start. When I first observed
the internet it was a maze of pictures, words, and sites. I did
not understand how it all came together. This was at a time when
my next door neighbors began a web domain startup company. It
was located in a small basement apartment with one server. They
even offered web service. This was a dialup with only 14,400 kb
speed. Today, this company is big. They have bought out
competitors, becoming a major player in the internet business.
This provided my important first hand lesson. It shouted out
loud that there was money to be made in this business and that
anyone could do it.
The next lesson I had to learn was to negotiate the internet.
This was not easy. The porn sites, sales sites, and other sites
I did not want to visit were everywhere. Soon I learned that in
the everyday business of the internet, do not put your email and
contact info out. If you do, within a day, you will be swamped
in your mail by companies wanting to sell you something. So
today, this lesson is still seen. I have a number of email
addresses. There is one I never put out in anything on the
internet. It is for my close friends and those I want to contact
me. The other emails are for my everyday correspondence in the
web business. By being careful in putting out personal
information, emails, and phone numbers, the risk of piracy is
cut down. The bad guys can’t find you if they don’t know you
exist.
That was until ’spy software’ came into my life. Overnight while
surveying the web through the search engines, ads would pop up
on my desk top. If they did not pop up there, it would be while
I was surfing the net. Out of nowhere these ads would offer me
everything and tell me how much I needed them. Then I got some
‘malicious’ spy removal tools, and other ’spy software’ from
MSN. Then these bad guys started disappearing. Now, only those
things I want are on my desktop. I also avoid sites that have
too many popup or sales ads. These are annoying and don’t serve
any purpose.
I managed to learn quickly that by going through my ‘options’ on
the internet explorer in the tools area, that those sites I
deemed bad would not be visited. I could limit the cookies these
sites wanted to gather, and even visit only certain rated sites.
The cookies tell others who you are and where to find you, which
was one thing I did not want. Some sites, however, would only
operate with cookies. I allowed cookies only for the reputable
sites with security and validation. By doing this, and putting
the options on my email to high, the porn sites and other
garbage on the net stopped flowing in.
Now in the course of my journey I have not made a million
dollars or even thousands. But by being careful and learning
about the web, I have managed to save myself thousands. I have
done this by watching where I put my information and how it is
handled by others. Being careful to go to sites where their
security certificate is validated by my software is a major
boon. No one wants the secret information like social security
numbers and the like to just float around cyber space like a
satellite around the earth.
I have also saved thousands of dollars by learning web master
duties. I literally became a crazed person going through
seventeen hundred lines of script for a tiny error so it would
work. This was done by first buying a WYSIWYG editor [What You
See Is What You Get] editor. A good one comes from Microsoft,
another one comes from Serif, and there are many others out
there. The first site I did was simple and was just a template
on a web host site. I experimented and made myself learn html.
To me it was Greek, but with persistence I learned it. Then I
started up my WYSIWYG editor and developed two web sites. These
were not the best, but hey, I was learning.
Today I develop websites, write script, and generally know my
way around a website. This is because of persistence, and
learning from others. I do not use others to do my websites.
Over time pushing myself to learn code, php, html, java,
graphics, and other web related items, I have managed to save
myself many dollars.
>From the start to where I am today, the web has been fascinating
and also frightening. It has been my friend and my foe. But over
time I learned how to navigate by search engines, develop links
to my sites, promote my site, and do some business on the web. I
learned to avoid porn and garbage sites. Along with this lessons
on security came to the forefront and saved me from losing
‘privacy’ to others. Given time and persistence, you too, can
save dollars and learn how to manage the web.

How to Spot A Fake Diamond
If you have even a passing interest in the
topic of diamonds, then you should take a
look at the following information. This
enlightening article presents some of the
latest news on the subject of diamonds.
In this world of advanced technology it is
almost impossible to simply look at a
diamond and determine whether it is real or
not – especially if you don’t know much
about diamonds. There are some steps that
you can take to avoid buying a fake diamond,
however.
First, only deal with reputable jewelers, and
when you find a reputable jeweler, stick with
them. Avoid buying diamonds or other
jewelry from jewelers that you have never
dealt with before in the past. Ask to see the
certificate for the stone. If no certificate
exists, walk away.
So far, we’ve uncovered some interesting facts
about diamonds. You may decide that the
following information is even more interesting.
Look at the setting that the stone is in. Fake
diamonds, such as zirconias, are usually set
in low quality metals. Take a close look at the
stone. Fake diamonds are not durable –
natural diamonds, on the other hand, are the
most durable stone on the planet. Look for
scratches or nicks.
After purchasing a diamond, take it to
another jeweler for appraisal. In fact, take it
to two or three other jewelers for an appraisal
to make sure that the appraisals are all fairly
close. If you find that you have purchased a
fake diamond, you may be accused of making a
switch when you return to the store of your
purchase; therefore, it is important to have
a certificate for the diamond. No two
stones are alike.
As your knowledge about diamonds continues to grow,
you will begin to see how diamond fits into the
overall scheme of things. Knowing how something
relates to the rest of the world is important too.
