Fungus Toenail Treatments
This article discusses the variety of fungus toenail treatments available to consumers. It divides the various options into four categories: prescription drugs, over the counter (OTC) conventional treatments, natural healing remedies, and traditional home remedies.
None of the remedies discussed here have proven to be 100 percent effective treatment for toenail fungus. For the prescription drugs and some natural healing remedies, the results of clinical trials and/or other scientific studies are available. For most of the traditional home remedies, anecdotal evidence is all we have - that is, the reports by people who have used them that they do work. OTC conventional products are basically not recommended by anyone for the treatment of fungal nail infections.
Oral prescription medications include Lamisil (terbinafine), Sporanox (itraconazole), and Diflucan (fluconazole). Lamisil appears to be the most effective treatment for toenail fungus in this group. While these treatment regimens have the advantage of being relatively easy, they do have rare severe side effects, and they are quite expensive if you have to pay for them out of pocket. People taking these fungus toenail treatments should be monitored for toxicity due to the drugs. There is one topical prescription drug available: Penlac (ciclopirox) nail lacquer is painted directly onto the affected nails, but can only be used when the infection is not advanced.
OTC antifungal ointments, creams and lotions may work quite well for fungal skin infections, but they are not recommended for nails simply because they are not an effective treatment for toenail fungus. They are applied to the nail topically, and they don’t penetrate the thick nail to kill the fungus, which is protected in the nail bed below the nail. If you want to try one of these medications, it might be a good idea to combine it with one of the other types of remedy to increase the probability of success.
There are many natural healing remedies available today to consumers; some of them incorporate an oral product. Some of these products may be effective treatment for toenail fungus. Perhaps the most promising ingredient in natural remedies is the essential oil, Tea tree oil, which is produced in Australia. Studies of this extract are encouraging, and a number of natural remedies contain it, blended with other herbal ingredients. Tea tree oil is even available in pure form, however there is some risk of skin sensitivity so this may not be best way to use it. Other natural remedies may be worthwhile fungus toenail treatments, but scientific evidence for or against them is generally lacking, simply because the research has not been done.
Finally, there are a lot of traditional, or simply inventive, home fungus toenail treatments. They include soaking the feet in various solutions, or applying substances that are thought to be antifungal. The substances employed include chlorine bleach, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, dark beer combined with a lactobacillus, Vicks VapoRub, Listerine mouthwash, DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide), and others. Some people swear by a drink of apple cider vinegar, twice daily, to cure and prevent fungal toenail infections. Again, the primary focus for an effective treatment for toenail fungus rests with getting the treatment beyond the nail to the fungus.

Intelligent Design comes from Brand & Account Planners
I’ve been reminded recently, rather forcefully, that not all reality hackers are anti-neoconservatives. Bush endorses teaching ‘intelligent design’. I can’t help hearing “intelligent design” as emerging from scores of focus group research.
There’s a war going on. I’m not safe in my own house. Americans are bombarded by 3,000 paid messages each day Media uses militaristic terminology. In movie theaters, we are referred to as captive audiences. TV networks call us a target. If I click on a banner ad they refer to me as a hit.
I’m sitting among memetic hitmen. I’m writing from the 2005 US Account Planning Conference -Exploring the New Power of Creativity in Chicago’s Fairmont hotel.
I’m not a registered attendee as I have been in years past. I’m wireless in the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel, so I am a paying customer of the hotel. I’m only trespassing when I actually attend the conference or eat a meal at their open buffets.
If you’ve read Thomas Frank’s One Market Under God, you know who these people are, social engineers for advertising and corporatocracy. My experience has been that most of these attendees get offended when I refer to them as social engineers.
I’m not really sorry if I am offending you by challenging your sensibilities.
Account Planning is the Peace Corp of Corporatocarcy—The Peace Corp General is a presidential appointee, those involved are an extension of George Bush. Account Planners may be doing good, but they are also paving the way. Similarly, account planners regularly pride themselves on being consumer advocates. I do it. It does help people. Regularly, account planners are the ones saying we can profit more if we screw the consumer less. Of course, that language is not often used.
Case-in-point: I worked on Baskin Robbins 2 Scoop Sunday for $1.99 promotion which greatly increased sales. A regular 2 Scoop Sunday had five ounces of ice cream covered in sauce and nuts and a cherry: two 2.5 ounce scoops of ice cream. This $1.99 promotion used one 2.5 scoop and one 1.5 scoop. Consumers were happy. We were selling happiness bythe way—that was our brand essence. Consumer had accepted one big scoop and a smaller scoop for $1.99.
They, the new product development engineers—as they were called, wanted to make the $1.99 Sunday two 1.5 scoops. I thought that might be fine. However, as the numbers were played with, and the concept of one big sccop and one small scoop resurfaced, they said that they should make it one 1.5 ounce scoop and one 1 once
scoop. Then, it was proposed we give them two 1-ounce scoops and the consumer would be happy with all the sauce and nuts and a cherry.
I said, “Maybe we can just sell a happy face for $1.99”
They said, “What?”
I said, “There coming in to our stores to buy ice cream. We have said that ice cream is happiness. They may be willing to compromise for price, but giving them 40% of happiness they expected, even at a discount, may leave them dissappointed, and
then we aren’t promoting happiness.”
Consumers eventually got 3-ounces of ice cream. I negotiate another ounce of cream for each patron. I was doing good. That’s the cool aid: I’m standing up for people.
When I read John Perkin’s Confessions Of An Economic Hitman, I felt like I should write The confessions of a memetic engineer.
Yesterday, I saw my old boss Jeffrey Blish give a lecture on the state of culture and account planning. He is a genius. His writing, before he found Jesus-I mean advertising-created the use of % of RDA on packaged foods. That was good. But I digress.
Yesterday, I saw Jeffrey speak about his work at Deutsch and their broadening influence on culture. He showed a Bon Jovi video his creative director Erik Hirschberg had concepted, a video that promotes the viral use of a smirk for subsuming the rage of youngsters. Brilliant memetic idea. Erik recently said, “Brands
are the new religion.” Jeff Johnson, CEO of WestWayne says the same thing. The Culting of Brands explores the tactics of this brand warfare.
Jeffrey spoke about the power of irrational reasons to believe. “Great cheese comes from happy cows. Happy cows come from California.” Then Jefferey asked, “How’s that for logic?” Of course it is intellishit and he knows this and he is proud it is
working so well and he should be.
Jeffrey suggested that those of us who wish to harness this technology should focus on two questions:
1) How is media consumption changing?
2) How is the consumer brand relationship changing?
I’m more concerned with being an advocate for transparency.

Boot Camp for Coffee Drinkers
Ok, so we go to a local coffee house and we order cappuccinos, café mochas, lattes and espressos. It isn’t the paper cups that make these drinks taste so good. It’s the recipe and of course the prettiness factor. Baristas all have a style of their own and every cup will taste different because of the roast, the grind, the amount used, the water, the temperature and many other things. We have all tried to make these coffee delights at home the way we think they are made, but do we really know the real way they are supposed to be made to extract the enchanting flavors correctly? Here is a quick list of how to make the basic drinks. This is boot camp for coffee drinkers.
Cappuccino: Equal parts of steamed and frothed milk and espresso. The milk goes on top of the espresso. Dust with nutmeg, cinnamon or chocolate powder or shavings.
Café Mochas: The easiest way is to use a good brand of hot chocolate, throw in a shot of espresso and top with whipping cream and chocolate powder or shavings. It looks the best if you put it in a tall glass and use a long handled spoon. For a finishing touch add a saucer and a napkin. Or make a latte and toss in a chocolate flavored shot.
Lattes: Foam & steam milk to 140-degrees. The ratio is 50% espresso and 50% milk. Pour the milk down the side of the cup so it infuses with the espresso. The difference between this and a cappuccino is a latte blends the two things together, whereas the cappuccino keeps them separate.
Espressos: We’ve all had bad espresso. There are many reasons why this is. The number one reason is an unfavorable bean. If you like espresso you are likely a connoisseur of coffee and know what constitutes a good bean. Anyway, to make a good espresso you must do the following:
- Use a fine grind
- You must tamp the espresso down firmly
- You must use a high pressure machine or stove top model
- You must not try to make too much at once
- You must see the creama on the top, which is a golden-brown foam
- You must use an appropriate espresso cup to keep the temperature from dissipating too quickly
All in all, making coffee correctly is all up to you and the way your flavor buds react to the taste. If you like it a particular way, then make it that particular way. However, if you have guests over they may just like the basics. So do yourself a favor and learn the correct way to make lattes and espressos.
Kate Simpson is quietly coming to terms with her addiction to chocolate-covered coffee beans. She is also a regular contributing writer for coffeebeanqueen.com – an excellent site for coffee lovers, with information about coffee makers, coffee bean classification, grinding tips and so much more.

Trading Software - Profit Machines or Losers?
Thousands of people every day trade on the worlds stock markets, with the majority now using software to aid them, but does it help them make more money?
This software is known as a ‘bot’, short for robot, but it is only ever as good as the user. If the user does not know how to trade successfully on his own in the first place then he is unlikely to get instant profit from a bot. New users have to understand that it will take weeks to learn how to use a bot correctly.
I use the ‘new’ bots on the block on a daily basis. Any professional trader should at least be aware of the existence of betting exchanges, and the fact they can turn over $Millions per horse race within a few minutes, and with the betting exchange allowing you to back (buy), and lay (sell) a horses odds, many new traders are springing up to take advantage of this with the use of betting bots. And the best thing is, you do not need any knowledge of the sport you are trading in. You can also trade on the majority of the worlds financial markets, such as the FTSE, NASDQ, etc, as well as currencies.
So are these new bots a license to print money? Depending on which one you use, as some are useless, and will see you lose money faster than if you were using a pin, but others stand out, and are put together by professional stock market traders. It is these bots that have the potential to make you money, and if handled correctly, plenty of it.
Most of the bots on sale focus on one aspect, whether it is trading, arbing, hedging or dutching, but there are a small number that focus on them all, and compared to the single function bots, are much better value for money. These multi-function bots allow you to find your niche in a competitive market, without emptying your bank balance.
It is also a misconception that you will start making a lot of money instantly. Even if the bot produced profits on a daily basis (which by the way, will never happen), you still have to limit trades to a fixed percentage of your betting bank, otherwise you will find yourself having no control over trading stakes. It is always best to start small, get the mistakes out of the way while it is cheap to do so, and when your stakes increase, you will have learnt enough from your mistakes to save money.
Some people click with trading straight away, others it can take weeks of staring at the graphs on the screen until the penny drops. Those that stick with it though, usually succeed, and a bot makes life so much easier.
So if you have the capabilities to profit from trading, then a betting bot may be for you, if you are looking for a quick buck, forget it.

The 5 Reasons You Have Failed To Flourish - A Series (Part 3)
#3: YOU DON’T TAKE ACTION
The secret to taking action is doing the best you can, from where you are, in the moment. You do not have to take huge steps right now. You must keep moving in the direction of your dreams, however. It is the consistent movement in that direction that gives us purpose. It creates little successes. When you start achieving little goals, and celebrate them, it builds a foundation. You are creating new ways of behaving. You are acting like a winner. You are behaving successfully.
Remember, you are a creature of habit. When you make a habit of taking action, it builds confidence, self-esteem, and momentum. It creates a flow. It attracts more success to you.
Haven’t you ever noticed that the people that are incredibly successful are busy all the time? Don’t they make it look like it is effortless? Haven’t you ever wondered how they can achieve so much? They have created a habit of taking action. They are un-stoppable. It is a natural way of being for them.
Begin with one small goal. Give yourself a time limit; in other words make it measurable. Keep focused on that one goal and move, take action. Be 100% committed to it. Keep taking action. Do not be dismayed if you encounter a few bumps along the way. The purpose is to keep taking one action step after another until you achieve that goal. Then honor yourself. Celebrate each and every success.
The Universe rewards those who take action. It is an agreement that you are living up to. You are showing up and are in the game. Connect with your sense of play as you continue to move forward. You will be rewarded with new behaviors that empower you.
You can do it.
Dr. Nancy Heimstra teaches people who don’t know what they want to be when they grow up an easy way to get clear on their life purpose so they can make more money, have better relationships and live the life they always wanted, by taking action.

Prenatal Health - Folic Acid (an Overview)
FOLIC ACID – AN OVERVIEW Folic Acid, also know as Vitamin B9,
assists in preventing certain birth defects of the spinal cord
and brain known as neural tube defects (NTDs). Without a
sufficient amount of Folic Acid the cells that form the baby’s
brain and spine become deficient resulting in spina bifida (open
spine) or anencephaly (undeveloped brain). There are over 4,000
births defects annually as a direct result of insufficient Folic
Acid in the Mother’s body. Folic Acid should be taken prior to
conception since these births defects begin in the first month
of pregnancy. Folic Acid also helps prevent other birth defects
such as cleft palate, low birth weight and helps in the
production of additional red blood cells needed to support the
growth of the fetus. Other studies have show that Folic Acid
helps in the prevention of heart disease, stroke and anemia. The
Center for Disease Control recommends that all women of
childbearing age consume 400 micrograms of Folic Acid daily and
that once pregnancy is confirmed increase to 800 micrograms
daily. The normal diet does not provide a sufficient amount of
Folic Acid so supplementation is required. Prenatal Blessings
provides prenatal diet and nutrition products especially
formulated to meet the increased nutritional needs of Moms2B
including their Oatmeal/Raisin Cookie fortified with Folic Acid.

Tips on Buying Custom Silicone Wristband Bracelets
Custom wristbands are what everyone is looking for these days. People are using custom silicone wristbands to raise money for a specific charity, to help raise awareness for their cause or just wearing them for fun. It is very likely that you have seen people wearing wristbands that support tsunami relief, breast cancer research, hurricane relief and of course the now famous yellow Live Strong bracelets.
With so many companies online selling custom bracelets it can be hard to find a good, quality supplier. However, if you just do a little homework you will be able to spot a good supplier. But you need to know what to look for and what to ask suppliers. You also need to know what type of companies to avoid. When doing your research these are the top 4 questions that you will want to be answered.
1. Set up fee / Mold Charge- Many companies will charge a set up fee to your first order and this is standard in the industry. However, look for a company that will waive that fee if you order a second batch of custom bracelets. This setup fee is also commonly referred to as a mold charge fee. This can run anywhere from $200-$500. There are companies that have no mold charge but instead raise their prices. If placing smaller orders it may be cheaper to go with a company that has no mold charge but higher prices. However, with large orders it is usually cheaper to go with a company that has a mold charge because your overall cost will be lower.
2. Shipping Fees - Look for a company with low shipping fees. This will most likely be a company in the country in which you reside due to high international shipping fees. Many companies simply resell wristbands from overseas. Make sure your orders are being shipped from your country in order to avoid high shipping charges.
3. Quality - Make sure you order custom silicone wristbands that are made with high quality silicone and not cheap alternatives. The best way to check this is to ask for a sample before you place any large order. If they will not send a sample this should raise a red flag.
4. Customization Options - Make sure you find a company that gives you all the options you are looking for. Whether it is different colored wristbands, different styles on printing or different sizes of bands to fit children and adults.
Take all these factors into account before you purchase personalized wristbands. By getting the answers to these question before you order you can assure yourself that you are indeed getting a good deal on you purchase. Why Copyright?
Copyright gives the author or the publisher the legal ownership
rights to control production, sale and distribution of
particular documents or images.
Protecting your intellectual property is a vital part of
creating and selling your own digitally published works.
Registering your copyright establishes a public record of your
copyright worldwide.
An excellent resource on the subject can be found at Brad
Templetons site which I recommend as a must read by anyone
interested in protecting their work…
http://www.templetons.com/brad/copymyths.html
When you run an online business be aware of the copyright laws
in other countries and compare them with your own country’s laws
and how they may also apply to you.
The information in government documents is usually not copyright
and available for use by everyone, but always check to be sure.
When you have created your e-book you do not want an
un-authorised party to illegally copy your work or claim it as
theirs.
Along with the other pirating proliferating on the net the
stealing of ebooks is growing at an alarming rate.
There have been many cases where authors have found their work
on other author’s sites under the name of the other author. If
your work is copyrighted you can at least legally sue for
copyright infringement.
You can password protect your e-book and other documents to make
cyber piracy of your work more difficult, but PC’s and the
document compiler software you use can never provide total
security against the determined cyber thief.
It is estimated that every year music, text and image files that
are worth an estimated $10 billion to their copyright owners are
illegally copied over the internet.
When this kind of theft occurs it can go on for quite some time
before you find out resulting in a loss fame, recognition and
sales revenue which should have been yours.
Copyright law covers most material on the Internet and extends
to text and images placed on another person’s web site. If a
feature does not appear to have a copyright marker you should
still assume it is copyright and requires permission before
using.
Use the Meta tag element to embed copyright into your HTML
documents or web pages.
Similarly the authors name can be embedded in a Meta tag.
Copyright those documents before you find you are a victim with
no legal rights because you have failed to take the the simple
precautionary step of placing a copyright marker on your work.

What is the Alternative to Buying a Home?
Many people want to live on their own but just do not have enough funds to actually purchase a house. Buying a house is most definitely one of life’s major investments. Not everyone, especially those who have just started with their careers or are students, can afford it. But if you want to experience this kind of “independent living” but are not financially capable of doing so, do not despair, as there are other more economical and practical ways by which you can achieve this.
The next best thing to owning a piece of property is renting or leasing it. Renting or leasing is fast becoming the trend for young people. They find it convenient because they can choose a place conveniently near their place of work, close to friends, or by a favorite spot (the beach, for example). They find it economical because they can either find a space that is within their budget, or hopefully find a friend (or group of friends) who can share in the rent expenses.
Some find renting property practical because you can live in a place that you can call your own but do not have to worry about paying taxes or the high costs of maintenance. If you’re lucky, you may even be able to swing a lease-to-own (where the rent money that you give every month serves as your monthly amortization. After a given number of years, you will no longer be considered a tenant but the owner of the property, and all papers will be transferred to you.) arrangement with the landlord.

You Only Need 51% Belief To Begin Attracting
I’ve seen too many people ‘beat themselves up’ as they learn about the Law of Attraction and begin to apply it in their lives. Why are they so hard on themselves? Because when their desire doesn’t materialize in a few days, they think they aren’t doing it right or they don’t believe enough. They are under the impression that in order to receive, they must have 100% belief–no doubt at all. And so they try to convince themselves, and the Universe, that they DO have 100% belief–when, in their heart, they don’t.
Here’s good news! You don’t need 100% belief, just 51% to start the process of receiving all your goals, desires and hopes whatever you want in life will start to become your reality. Just believe that it’s possible for you to have what you’ve asked for. All you need to do is tip the scales slightly and you will begin to notice small (or big) evidence that your desire is on its way.
As you stay in the mind-set of possibility, possibility grows into probability. Probability grows into belief and belief grows into certainty. Certainty is the opposite of doubt.
Here’s a true story I received this week from Tony, a coaching client:
“Since learning about the Law of Attraction, I have discovered that there are times when I cannot BE the way I’d like to be. This week, I found myself in an impossible situation and I remembered what you said: ‘Instead of starting from a place of certainty, 100% guarantee, start with it’s possible.’
We visited friends in another state this weekend. On our return flight, airport security was so tight, we actually missed our flight by four minutes (we arrived at our gate–literally the farthest gate in the airport– with six minutes to spare, but they close the aircraft ten minutes before departure and do not open it for anyone). We were put on the standby list for the next flight, which was full. Every flight after that next one was full, and it was important that we get back to go to work Monday–we both have full schedules, and staying another night was less than ideal.
I couldn’t bring myself to believe that we were going to get on that next flight as ‘Standby.’ My wife was still freaking out that we missed our previous flight, we had run out of baby food, and my son was getting cranky for a nap.
I could not bring myself to believe we were getting on that flight, but I kept thinking ‘it’s possible.’ The next thing I know, one of the flight attendants took a fancy to my son, and started chatting with my wife, and before you know it, we have–literally–the last two seats on the aircraft, and she arranged it so they were together, and we had a window. (Our son sat on our lap.)
It’s still hard to believe I ‘vibrated’ us onto that aircraft, but I did keep it open as a possibility. So you were right, I only had to believe by 51%. Thank you, Rebecca!”
Tony G., New York
Think about all the times you HAVE received something when you still had doubts about it. What is your desire today? Has anyone else every received what you desire? If so, then is it possible that you can have it too?
If you can believe…You will receive.
