Franchise Opportunities orBuiling Your Own Business
The world of business startups is rife with option. You can buy a franchise or start your own business from scratch. This ultimately depends on what you want to put in and what you expect out.
Pick up a business magazine and your will find lots of franchises for sale.Franchises are everywhere. When you purchase a franchise you are basically getting a business in a box. A franchise basically gives you everything you need with a well recognized name to draw in customers. There are many different franchises available. Some will give you the business name, equipment and everything you need for start up, others only give you the basics and you still have to buy or lease a location, purchase equipment and the inventory you will need.
The negatives of buying a franchise however are that you are not free to change much of your business model, and you must pay for the privilege up front. Visit the Key Mergers website for more information or if you would like to f you would like to buy a business or for details of available franchises.
Starting your own business from scratch however means that you can grow the business organically over time, you can limit your initial outlay and you can be as creative with the direction of your business as you like. However, your model may not be tried and tested and you will likely have to develop your own support network from the ground up along with your business.
The bottom line is, the rational for choosing whether to buy a franchise or start a business from scratch are dependent on what your want to get out of the enterprise. There is no one size fits all advise.

Anger - Changing Your Thinking
Anger is an emotional state caused by a real or perceived grievance (a cause of distress). You can be angry at other people, events, and even yourself. Physical conditions such as hunger, fatigue, pain, hormonal imbalances, and even sexual frustration can cause levels of anger to become elevated. Some even feel that genetic predisposition can cause some people to be more angry than others. Getting angry not only affects you emotionally, but physically as well. Your blood pressure increases, you have an increased level of adrenaline in your bloodstream and your heart beats faster. These are all natural responses to threats. It goes back to the basic fight or flight response that is programmed into each of us.
So, can we control our anger? The answer to that question is an overwhelming yes. With some basic techniques you can learn to manage your own anger levels. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t get angry at all. Many injustices and our own values give us valid reasons to become angry. What it does mean, though, is that you can control what angers you and how you respond.
The first step in taking command of your anger is to change your thinking. Believe it or not, changing some of your beliefs and expectations can decrease your anger immensely. When you expect people, including yourself, to behave a certain way and a different behavior surfaces, this can cause a great amount of anger. Perfectionist thinking causes a tremendous amount of anger as well. So, instead of expecting people to be flawless, give them a break, and give yourself one, too. If you don’t anticipate a perfect situation you won’t be angry when it doesn’t pan out.
Another way to help dissolve anger is to stop thinking in terms of always and never. Nothing is black or white; all or nothing. Everything is somewhere in between. If you get into the habit of thinking this way, you are less likely to become angry over any given situation. Of course, some situations are bound to cause anger, especially if you feel that something is unjust. But it is up to you how angry you get over any situation. You can be incensed or your can become enraged, but it is in your control.
A final way to prevent anger is don’t jump to conclusions. This can be one of the biggest causes of anger. Learn to talk out a situation instead of assuming you know the answer. No one is a mind reader. If you ask for clarification in a given situation you may be surprised to find out you misread the other person and their intentions. This can diffuse anger very quickly.
Remember, how you feel about any given situation is up to you and you alone. It stems back to your beliefs, values and expectations. Alter those and you can alter your anger levels.

Is Feng Shui Certification for You?
Is Feng Shui certification for you? My answer is a definite… Maybe.
If you’re an avid reader, you can probably learn everything that you need to know from Feng Shui websites, and from recommended books such as the lighthearted “Move Your Stuff, Change Your Life” and “Feng Shui in 5 Minutes,” or more academic texts such as “Interior Design with Feng Shui.”
However, if you’ve read Feng Shui books but still have important questions, or if you’d like to grow a career as a Feng Shui consultant or designer, Feng Shui training can be very important.
At the very least, it can open doors for you as a professional.
Try some basic Feng Shui courses
Start by checking local adult ed classes. Someone may be teaching Feng Shui for beginners, or a related class. Community colleges often offer Feng Shui courses in their architecture, art, or Asian studies programs.
Treat the course lightly. If the teacher insists that Compass School Feng Shui is the only correct approach, or that Black Hat Feng Shui is the answer to everything, nod and smile… but don’t take the teacher seriously.
There is some truth–and often considerable value–in every approach to Feng Shui. It’s vital to keep an open mind.
If you like Black Hat Feng Shui but your teacher prefers the Compass School, just think “Money Corner” when the teacher says, “Southeast corner,” and think “Career Area” when the teacher says, “North wall.”
The basic principles are the same in almost all approaches to Feng Shui. Some people get locked into “this is the only true path” views, but you don’t have to.
I tested Compass School Feng Shui for two years before returning to Black Hat Feng Shui. The latter works best for me and for my clients, but some of my friends insist that the Compass School offers a greater success rate than Black Hat.
Test everything yourself. Modify the rules and find what works best for you. Generally, you’ll attract clients who resonate to the same principles that have been successful in your home and office.
Graduate to Feng Shui certification
After trying a few Feng Shui classes, you may want to learn more, or qualify for Feng Shui certification.
Do plenty of research before selecting a Feng Shui school or teacher. Talk with former students. Verify the teachers’ credentials and reputations. Visit their websites. Have these teachers written books? Read them. (If they’re really good, your public library probably has copies. Or, you can get them on inter-library loan.)
Make certain that you’ll be studying with a professional… and with someone who has respected Feng Shui expertise.
Compare course prices. And, ask about the refund policy if you quickly realize that the school isn’t for you, after all.
Feng Shui certification can open doors, especially among architects, interior designers, and decorators. Many of them give added respect to professionals with formal training.
You can certainly practice Feng Shui without stepping into a classroom. And, you can build a successful Feng Shui business based on happy clients and word-of-mouth advertising.
However, if you’re looking for the fastest possible route to success with Feng Shui–especially as a professional–Feng Shui courses and certification may be a wise choice.
Aisling D’Art has been practicing Feng Shui–using both Black Hat and Compass techniques–for over 15 years. She doesn’t offer courses, but provides helpful free information at her website. For more information about Feng Shui courses and certification, see Feng Shui Certification - Pros and Cons at Aisling’s Feng Shui website, Shui To Go! (pronounced “Shway to go!”)

Making Money With Penny Stocks
I am constantly surprised when I see article after article telling me how easy it is to make thousands, if not millions in the stock market with penny stocks.
Just recently I stumbled across an article, a very naive one at that which stated that if you investing $1000 in a stock, and it doubled, and you repeated that over 10 years, you would have over a million dollars. Well, if a 1000lb golden meteorite came crashing through my roof, I would also be a millionaire, which is about as likely doubling your money every year.
Forget everything you have read that says you can make easy money in the stock market, it is just not true, for if it was, we would all be millionaires by now.
Making serious money in the markets takes some serious research and patients. Some say the markets are like a casino, you are gambling your money, this is not true. In a casino, the house has better odds at keeping your money by the end of the day, in the stock markets, you are in control of how much risk you are taking, which brings me to the first of three important step of making money in the markets:
Managing Your Risk
Risk management is the name of the game. Its as simple as setting a stop loss order. You will see this option in your online brokers interface, when you place an order, you can set a level at which you want to get out of a stock automatically. For example, you buy 100 shares of Intel at $25, you can immediately set a stop loss order so that if the stock drops below $23, your account will sell the shares, with or without you being around. This stop loss strategy will take the emotion out of your selling if it is moving against you. If you take care of your losses, the profits will take care of themselves.
Fundamental Analysis
When it comes to penny stocks, fundamentals are tricky. Most penny stocks do not have earnings or even revenue to start, thus ratios such as PE might not apply. Earnings for small companies can fluctuate wildly between quarters which makes accurate fundamental screens difficult The important factor to consider here is the share structure of the penny stock, the ‘tighter’ the share structure, the better the odds of the stock moving on good news. As an example, penny stock ‘A’ trading at 1c with 100M shares outstanding (the amount of shares the company has) will have a market cap (the total dollar value of the company) of $1M. Company ‘B’ trading at 10c, but with 10M shares outstanding will also have a market cap of $1M. Company ‘B’ has a tighter share structure, and if all other factors are the same, it would be the more attractive of the two.
Technical Analysis
Technical Analysis (TA) refers to the study of a stock chart, identifying previous patterns and applying them to current trends in order to predict an outcome. Technicals can actually be applied to any chart, not only stocks, since there are a finite group of possible patterns, being able to identify them can help in predicting future trends. Since fundamentals may not be very helpful in selecting penny stocks, techincals are increasingly important. The most basic of indicators would be support and resistance levels, you can easily identify these by joining two or three extreme lows with a straight line, then project that line to the right of the chart, this would be a support line. The opposite holds true, connect two or three peaks in the chart, then project the line to the right, this would be a resistance level. By adding support and resistance levels to your stock charts, you can identify favorable entry and exits.
These are the basics to investing and penny stocks, by taking a few hours to educate yourself with the these concepts you will be able to limit your risks and increase your odds of being a successful investor over the long term!

Quickly Eliminate 100% of Your Junk Email
Why do so many people think I need to take Viagra? I guess it’s for the same reason others believe I want to re-finance my home, invest in a new stock and sell my business.
Like you, I routinely receive more junk emails than legitimate ones. Do I look stupid or do they really think I want the latest virus by opening any attachment which accompanies an unsolicited email? Aren’t there laws against spamming and why don’t they work? Perhaps these are questions for other articles. What you need to know now is that I have found a way to keep unwanted emails from ever seeing your inbox.
For the past year I have been using a program called “Boxtrapper”. Until this time I had been relying on various spam filters that used keywords or other factors to determine if an email was spam. The success rate for this type of filtering varied as spammers eventually found ways around the “formula” being used by the filter. For example, the word “Valium” may be flagged as a spam indicator while the misspelled version, “Va Lium”, would get by unnoticed. This is just one of many examples of how spammers manipulate words to beat filtering. The biggest problem is when spammers “spoof” the header information in an email so it’s nearly impossible to trace who sent the message. I have even seen instances of people receiving spam emails that appear to have come from themselves!
When you try to beat the spammers on this level you quickly find yourself running in circles and sadly realizing this is an ineffective way to guard against every spam email. A friend suggested I try “Boxtrapper” because it had eliminated ALL spam from his inbox. Since I have many email accounts, I decided to try it on my personal address and test its effectiveness. Immediately I could see the difference.
The reason “Boxtrapper” is so effective is because of it’s “opt-in” design. Basically, no email can reach you unless the sender has confirmed they are legitimate. Once they have been confirmed, their email address is added to a “whitelist”. I’m sure you’ve heard the term “blacklist”, which is used to filter out names. In this case a whitelist is maintained to show who is allowed to email you.
To better understand how “Boxtrapper” works, I will explain what happens when a legitimate email from a friend comes your way. First, when a friend sends you an email, he will automatically receive an email reply (known as an “auto response”). This email will tell him to simply hit his “Reply” button and resend in order to be added to your list of accepted senders. You can fully customize the auto response message so it reads exactly how you prefer.
For example, this is how my auto response reads:
————————————————————
Hello,
Since I get way too much spam, I have enabled a feature on my email account which requires verification that you are the real sender.
To complete this verification, simply reply to this message and leave the subject line intact.
Once you are added to my “whitelist” of accepted senders I will receive your message and you will not have to complete another verification.
————————————————————–
You can also enter the email addresses of all your friends, family, and business contacts ahead of time so they never receive the initial auto response. If you subscribe to newsletters or receive monthly statements from your bank you can add their return addresses into your whitelist so you never miss a message. If anyone else happens to email you, all they have to do is reply to the auto response and they are added to your whitelist. At any given time you are able to view a list of emails awaiting verification (known as a “queue”). You can manually allow emails through to your Inbox or wait until they are verified.
Now the big question - what happens to all the spam? Since spammers are not going to verify they received your auto response, all spam email will be caught in your queue of emails awaiting verification and never proceed to your inbox. This means the only emails you are going to receive are those by approved senders. You will soon find that most emails awaiting verification are unsolicited, junk emails.
Since enabling “Boxtrapper” on one of my personal email addresses it has completely eliminated all incoming spam. I know many who use this feature and they are extremely pleased with not having to waste time sorting through and deleting unsolicited emails. While most spam filters use complex formulas to find out if an email is garbage, “Boxtrapper” is able to quickly determine if the sender is real. So, how can you start making this feature work for you?
Because “Boxtrapper” is not sold in stores or a program you can readily download and install on your computer, it’s one of the best kept secrets on the web. This feature is normally bundled with other email services provided by either your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or website host (most likely, the latter). By the way, I don’t have any stock in “Boxtrapper”. For some reason, they never sent me an email asking me to invest.

Creating Assets:Spark Your Thinking With These 16 Comprehensive Questions
Here are some questions to get your thoughts and cash flow moving that will also keep your product creating aligned and focused.
Find your gold mine in your surroundings by looking at any promotional literature you have created, audio or video tapes you have produced, press releases or articles about or by you, your product catalog or list and even your business card.
1. What is the one single important subject from your experience or knowledge that you want to tell the world about? If you have a list or create a list, which one speaks to you the loudest?
2. What are you most frequently surprised about that people ask about in your subject area? Track all the questions people are asking — they are telling you what they are willing to buy. It is usually something so common sense to you that it escapes your radar. Be observant for a month and you will be amazed on what pops up.
3. When you created your list or selected the single important subject, look to narrow down this topic into segments. Can these segments be a product or service on their own? Most of the time it can be.
4. How will you spread the word — what will be your marketing tool for this subject/segment? Think how buyers want to hear about it (not what’s in your comfort level — that is if you want it to be easy as possible — however it doesn’t have to be). Can this become a profit center for you? If yes, how? What are your ideas and thoughts?
5. What is the top thing you want people to know about this subject/segment? Is it a new skill, perspective, attitude, expanding general knowledge, wisdom — what?
6. Does the information need to be presented in logical order or randomly?
7. What do you want people to do or not to do, change or move during or afterwards with this? How will this benefit them?
8. Who besides this market can benefit from this? Are there any other specific markets that this would apply to? Manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, who?
9. Is there any specific words or language for this topic/subject/segment? If not specific, what words appear more frequently than others? Create a list of keywords that you might search on the Internet if you were looking for information on this.
10. Think back to a time when you first learned about this topic/subject/segment. Did you keep any notes or journal entries? Did you receive an aha moment when you learned a principle or key about this? Yes, then write about the story/aha moment.
11. Do some research on the Internet and Amazon. What other information is available on this? How old is this information? Create a file in your word processing software and call it “[your topic/subject] research.” Do the research in small chunks or big ones. Don’t read until you have collected 10-20 pages. Set a time limit on the research and/or number of pages of research notes. Don’t forget to track the URL source. Keep cutting and pasting the information in as you progress.
12. What do people need to know about you? Why do you want to tell this or teach it? Do you have any credentials, if not, that’s okay to, however, what is your experience on this topic? More times than not, life training is worth a lot more than credentials.
13. Do you have any other information that connects or compliments this topic/segment? Another article, booklet, audiotape — anything — go-ahead pull it out and gather it all together.
14. Have you heard any short anecdotes on this topic? If so, what were they, who was the source? Can you interview them to hear it again? Give them the credit; it makes you more attractive on the topic?
15. Does your information need visual assistance? Graphics, pictures, charts, models. Anything come to mind as a possibility? Draft out every idea so they can grow. Use the research you are doing to spark your creativity. If someone presents it in words, can you do it in a model or drawing?
16. Are there any ebooks on the topic? What about special reports? Paid or free? If purchased, does it compliment your topic or how can you create a different angle and use it to compliment? Can you create an affiliate with their product? Do you want to use it as a marketing lead-in or as a bonus?
Boy, that was tough thinking about all this and answering these questions. Yes, I agree. Yet, as I know you well see while reading them, how important they are to your success.
Now, the tough time comes, you need to sit down and answering them. Not just once, however, on a regular basis. Like minimum once a year.
Take the time, it’s the best time you will ever spend working “on” your business. Best wishes on your journey. If you need guidance, let me know.

They Say “Look In The Mirror, Don’t See Fat, See Beautiful!” That’s Not Going To Make You Healthy O
Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you can, or you can’t, you are usually right.” If you really want to improve yourself, know that you can. You will not be dieting, you will be changing ingredients and you will give in to some changes without turning your nose up before trying. It took a long time to put that weight on, it will come off, but not in 6 weeks like the skinny models on your TV screen. Have patience! Don’t have the mindset of a dieter. Remember, you are not starving. You are eating delicious, tasty food.
My husband was 241 lbs. and had a triple bypass six years ago. Today he weighs 178 lbs. and his cholesterol is 108. I never lied to him about his food; I just neglected to mention that I did things like replacing the ground beef in his chili with veggie protein crumbles (from the frozen food case) and the shredded cheddar was veggie cheese from the supermarket produce department. Believe it or not the shredded veggie cheddar tastes and melts so much better than the regular no-fat cheddar. He loves it! I finally had to tell him why he was losing so much weight. He was beginning to think there was something terribly wrong with him.
I bought a cook book with lots of creamy comfort foods that he always craved. None had the heavy cream, butter and cheese that comfort food usually has. I learned how to substitute fat-free half & half or evaporated skim milk for cream. I used margarine with no trans-fat and after a while, I didn’t need a special cookbook. It was easy to convert any recipe to low fat, low calorie, low anything.
Here’s a good example of a recipe conversion: Original recipe was made with veal not chicken. I used healthy olive oil and margarine, reduced both to 1 teaspoons. The half-and-half was replaced with the fat free kind.
Chicken in a Creamy Mustard Sauce:
2 chicken breasts (boned & skinned)
1 tablespoon flour
teaspoon each salt & pepper
1 teaspoons each olive oil & margarine
cup each diced onion & sliced mushrooms
cup fat-free half-and-half or evaporated skim milk
1 tablespoon each Dijon & fresh parsley
1 teaspoons lemon juice
Dredge chicken in flour, salt, & pepper. In a non-stick skillet heat oil over medium heat, add chicken and cook, turning once, until browned on both sides and cooked throughout (about 2 minutes per side). Remove chicken.
In same skillet heat margarine until bubbly; add onions & mushrooms. Sauté until lightly browned. Reduce heat, add half-and-half, mustard, parsley and lemon. Stir constantly until sauce comes to a boil and thickens. Serve over the chicken.
Learn this method of good eating; forget the fad diets and the pills. Stop killing your husband and the kids with what you think is kindness cooking. Serve more vegetables and salad. Get healthy and then look in the mirror and be proud of your accomplishment!

Skip The Pesticide And Use Natural Alternatives
For best health, it is important to keep your environment as chemical free as possible. With better weather coming up, consider this:
Many people do not realize that using pesticides and weed killers on lawns can cause health problems for your children and animals, as they often are on the lawn daily in the summer.
Some pesticide studies have raised concerns about the connection between pesticide exposure and childhood brain cancer and leukemia. Also impaired development of the reproductive system and neurological and developmental problems.
Both children and pet’s body composition is smaller for the amount of chemical they are exposed to, so the health threat is bigger for them. Of course, it is not good for you as an adult, either.
For a safe alternative to weed killers, try vinegar. Yes, the vinegar you have sitting in your kitchen cupboard.
You can use straight household vinegar and put it in a spray bottle, and spray that on the weeds you find in your yard and garden. You could also add a little dish soap to the vinegar, which will help the mixture to stick to the weeds.
Vinegar mix will not get the roots, so it is best to spray on the weeds before they are two weeks old for best effect.
Please remember that the vinegar will kill or injure what it comes in contact with. So be careful with getting it on the grass or other plants that you want to keep.
If the weeds are not young, you may want to purchase one of those tools that are advertised that you poke into the ground and pop the whole weed out. Most of the ads I have seen show the person being able to pop the weed out without bending over or getting on their knees.
By eliminating weed killer you may be preventing health problems for your self and your loved ones in the years to come. It is certainly worth the few minutes it takes to mix up the solution
don’t you think?

A Window Cleaning Business Can’t be Truly Successful if Procrastination is on the Agenda
Ah…the dreaded “P” word. I see window washers bring procrastination into their window cleaning business quite a lot, and it’s unfortunate because it’ll seriously slow down the success of your business.
This problem certainly doesn’t extend to only the window washing business. People naturally lean towards putting things off because it’s the safe thing and the easiest thing to do. I saw it a great deal when I was in the insurance biz. If I had a nickel for everytime someone said “I’ll think about it”, I
could own an island somewhere.
Many people are simply afraid to make a wrong decision or make a mistake, so they make no decision. Their fear causes them to procrastinate themselves into inactivity.
Or…in the case of the window washing business, some window washing business owners will work real hard initially in the preparation stage of their business, but then not take the next logical steps.
And those steps are to take the information learned and tools provided and put them to use in the field. One little step at a time, and before you know it, you’ll have a successful business.
And speaking of fear leading to procrastination, I see some window washers delaying the start of their businesses until that absolute “perfect time” arrives.
For example, I got an email more than a month ago from someone who purchased my program quite a few months ago. In the email, she was asking me my opinion on when she should start her business. She mentioned that since the summer was almost over (this was still June), should she wait until next summer.
In the nicest way possible, I wrote back and urged her to start NOW! Why wait? Why lose all that income by putting off the start date. That makes no sense. In other words, she was waiting for the “perfect” time. And there isn’t such a thing.
One of my most successful system owners is a guy in a very cold climate. He started last November. Just hitting the cold season. But instead of using that as an excuse for delaying
his business, he grabbed the bull by the horns and ran with it. Now he’s sitting on a business with 93 customers the last time we spoke…and growing!
I’ve also spoken with window washers who try and have everything set up just perfect before they mail out one postcard, distribute one flyer, or talk to anyone about their business. “Being perfect” doesn’t put any money in your pocket.
You just have to get started and then adjust during the journey.
When I started selling my program back in April ‘03, my website looked nothing like it does now. It’s a constant, steady work in progress. Always evolving. If I would have procrastinated until
it was perfect, it still wouldn’t be ready.
Here’s what Jeff Zalewski, a six figure a year income earner with a network marketing company, wrote recently about challenges, constant motion, and not being perfect:
“If you look around you and study the success stories of people from all walks of life, you will find that everyone faces challenges. Everyone experiences failure and defeat. The key to
success is to know when and how to learn from our failures.
You are where you are because of you. Therefore, it is only you who can make progress by learning from your failures and defeat. Move yourself forward one step at a time. Stay in constant motion
forward and work toward continued improvement.
Do not worry about being perfect because it will never happen. Only improvement can happen.
Never blame others for where you are today. Accept responsibility for where you are and then be accountable to improve and make progress in your business.”
So if you’re new to the window cleaning business, I urge you to take whatever time is needed to set the stage like ordering supplies, learning squeegee techniques, getting some signage, outfitting yourself with a company shirt, etc. It’s all spelled out in my manual How to Start Your Own Residential Window Washing Business. But once this is all in place, get out there and expose your company to the many prospects who need your services. Eliminate the tendency to procrastinate, and at the end of the day, your business will grow because of it.
If you’ve been in the business for a few weeks, months, or years, and you find yourself constantly doing what needs to be done to grow your business, and prospects are jumping on board, congratulations!
If on the other hand, you find yourself not exactly where you want to be, or you find that the growth of your company has stagnated a little bit, take a hard look at whether some procrastination has taken over and you’ve “settled” for an average business. Are you still venturing out there every day and talking up your business? Don’t put off ’til tomorrow what
you can do today.
Best Wishes,
